The CO-OP, our innovative and inclusive early learning center, provides a strong foundation that sets the stage for future academic and personal achievement. Children ages 18 months to 5 years, with and without autism, benefit from practices that promote young children’s optimal learning and development.

Inclusive Education

Inclusion is good for everyone: all people benefit from a sense of belonging, support, trust, and mutual respect. The program promotes positive relationships among all children and adults. It encourages each child’s sense of individual worth and belonging as part of a community and fosters each child’s ability to contribute as a responsible community member.

Highly Trained and Qualified Professionals

Every classroom is led by a highly qualified and experienced teacher and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). In addition, our transdisciplinary teams provide supports that address the needs of children and families in a broad-based and coordinated way that make greater progress toward common goals.

Developmentally Appropriate Practice

Our programs utilize developmentally appropriate practices, which provide an optimal balance of adult guided and child-guide experiences, complexity and challenge of activities, learning formats and contexts, and indoor and outdoor learning time.

Continuum of Supports

We provide high-quality instruction and interventions matched to children’s needs, address the role of the environment as it applies to development and improvement of behavior problems, and monitor progress in ongoing, strategic, and meaningful ways to improve teaching and learning.

High Adult-Student Ratios

Our 1:3 ratios allow for individualized instruction and support. Each child is unique and with individualized instruction and support can succeed.

Curriculum

Our early learners program focuses on building strong foundational skills in the area of communication, social/emotional, play, cognition, self-help, and physical development. In addition to developmental milestones, special focus is dedicated to prerequisite and “ready to learn” skills such as attending, listening, and social skills. Our hands-on, experiential, play-based curriculum was developed by Teaching Strategies—Gold and is endorsed by Arizona Department of Education and the National Association for the Education fo the Young Child (NAEYC).
