Inclusive Community

A sense of belonging is a fundamental human need, it gives purpose and meaning to our lives. Inclusion is good for everyone: all people benefit from a sense of belonging, support, trust, and mutual respect. Our programs promote positive relationships among all children and adults. They encourage a sense of individual worth and belonging as part of a community and foster the ability to contribute as a responsible community member.

Transdisciplinary Approach

Our team is made up of experts from various disciplines that come together to create a whole much greater than the sum of its parts. The transdisciplinary approach optimizes resources, redefines problems outside normal boundaries, limits service fragmentation, emphasizes the centrality of the family, efficiently integrates knowledge across teams, and innovates to reach new solutions and optimize results.

Positive Mind Framework

The Positive Mind Framework was developed to take a holistic and strengths-based approach to family and individual well-being. Focusing on the interconnected elements of social/emotional competence, functional and emotional support, and physical health the framework provides tools to navigate life’s challenges, build resiliency, and thrive.

Continuum of Supports

Each child has a unique combination of strengths and challenges and with individualized instruction can succeed. A continuum of supports includes the practices of providing high-quality instruction and interventions matched to children’s needs; addressing the role of the environment as it applies behavior; and monitoring progress in ongoing, strategic, and meaningful ways to improve teaching and learning.

Exceptional Education

Our programs utilize developmentally appropriate practices, which provide an optimal balance of adult-guided and child-guide experiences, complexity and challenge of activities, learning formats and contexts, and indoor and outdoor learning time. Additionally, appropriate curriculum promotes all areas of development, includes a broad range of content across disciplines, builds on strengths and prior experiences, and provides opportunities for exploration and meaningful play.

Family Capacity-Building

Families are children’s first and most important caregivers, teachers, and advocates. Family capacity-building that enhances and promotes parenting knowledge, skills, and self-confidence is one of the most powerful ways to ensure everyone reaches their potential. This is accomplished through comprehensive training and support, education about navigating different systems, and connection to resources and services.
